Support Great Causes

You don’t have to be a charity runner to support this great cause! Anyone may make a donation to our official charity partner. Please consider donating when registering, or invite your family and friends to donate after you have registered. Your support is greatly appreciated!

BC Children’s Hospital: Rare Disease Translational Research

BC Children’s is the only hospital in the province devoted exclusively to the care of children. That means one million kids – including some of the sickest and most seriously injured – count on the hospital for specialized care they often can’t receive anywhere else. BC Children’s long-term research partner, the Rare Disease Foundation, believes that “Research Is Care” for members of the rare disease community, many of them children. Since the inception of their microgrant program in 2008 which focuses on a holistic patient-centric approach or “Translational Care”, the Rare Disease Foundation has funded over 500 individual research projects delivering 11 potential cures.

Note: Charities are not sponsors of the Great Trek and their participation in the event should not be construed as an endorsement by the event. We understand and expect that in a diverse society there will also be diversity of views, opinions, and causes. It is in this spirit that we allow and welcome a broad range of participants.
