GREAT TREK
The Fall Classic now takes place annually in October and is considered one of Vancouver’s last great races of the year. Race entry includes tons of bonuses which in the past have included exclusive RUNVAN® socks, toques and gloves. All runners receive sushi, chilli or pizza post-race inside at the Nest, comped beer, medals, and so much more. Organized by the local non-profit RUNVAN®, this event further supports local charity. Thanks to a new partnership with UBC, you can enjoy even more festivities post-race at the Great Trek Festival. RUNVAN® looks to deliver premiere running events that inspire active lifestyles. Grand Slam awards go to those who run all RUNVAN® races in the same calendar year:
First Half presented by BlueShore Financial, BMO Vancouver Marathon, Granville Island Turkey Trot, and Great Trek presented by BlueShore Financial
A bonus prize will be awarded to those who Score the RUNVAN® Grand Slam!
- Run all four RUNVAN® events in the same calendar year
- Includes any of the race distances, except the Kids Run
- Runners may pick up their Grand Slam prize at the Great Trek presented by BlueShore Financial (it will not be mailed)
- Use the same first name, last name and date of birth to automatically qualify

The Vancouver International Marathon Society RUNVAN® is the non-profit, volunteer-run organization, responsible for organizing the First half presented by BlueShore Financial, BMO Vancouver Marathon, Vancouver’s only marathon event, the Granville Island Turkey Trot and Great Trek presented by BlueShore Financial. The Society is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and delivers running events with a mandate to inspire active lifestyles and celebrate the value sport delivers to our communities.
